The world is run by power hungry individuals that influence the general population to such an extent that if they don’t get what they want, it seems like the end of the world.

I’m not talking about houses or cars….I’m talking about simple little things in our everyday lives.

There is no such thing is being grateful and thankful anymore….well I’m obviously generalizing at the moment, but that is what it seems like to me.

Everyday I see people unhappy because of the clothes they wear or the food they eat. It disgusts me to see what the perception of happiness has become. It’s as if the world is sliding backwards each day and there is nothing we can do about it.

Seth Godin wrote an interesting article today “Welcome to infinity” where he highlights the fact that people just can’t have enough anymore… A couple of years ago you were happy with 100 friends phone numbers in your black book, but now you just can’t have enough friends on Facebook?

How many Twitter followers do you need before you are happy? Nowadays people focus on the quantity and not the quality, they are chasing the masses with no intent to stop…they will never have enough.

The same goes for moneyPeople work themselves to death to earn $200 more than their friends because they need MORE! Greed and selfishness is usually key character traits of these individuals and it’s a shame, because there are millions of people out there that could use their help…

What I wish I could do for starters

I wish that I could just take these people into a rural area and show them the living conditions some people have to face. They won’t only be shocked by the way these people live, but by their gratefulness too. They are happy people living with NOTHING

When I refer to nothing, I’m not saying that they don’t have a car, a boat or a big house, I’m saying they don’t have shoes, warm clothes, beds, roofs over their heads. They don’t know when their next meal is going to be…

It’s shocking…

And then you get individuals that are unhappy because they couldn’t get those new shoes or that they don’t have the latest iPhone? It just doesn’t make sense to me…Seriously, get your act together and start being grateful.

I wonder what the outcome would be if you had to be put into these peoples shoes — everything you have be taken away from you? Too be honest. I think a lot of people would end their lives as they would feel that they don’t have anything to live for anymore. It’s already happening and it’s been happening ever since people started getting so obsessed with money.

I’m not saying that you aren’t allowed to live a decent lifestyle and fulfill some of your dreams, but get real. Start helping people, even if its just your old pair of shoes or a few t-shirts…it will make a difference in your life and theirs.

You might be wondering how it will make a difference in your life? Well…

There is nothing and I mean NOTHING that makes me happier than helping someone in need. The satisfaction obtained is just overwhelming. I’m not doing it to prove a point to anyone…I’m doing it because I care and want to. You have to experience it for yourself. There is no other way to explain it.

Get involved

So please, get your act together and start being grateful and helping out where you can. If you want to make a difference in the world, start with yourself.

If you need some suggestions on how you can get involved to change peoples lives, give me a shout and I would be glad to suggest some things that can be done.

So tell me…are you grateful for what you have in your life? OR Is there some change going to take place pretty soon?
