TED is a great platform who encourages thousands of people to take a stand and be who they want to be. Inspired through 1000′s of hours of video content, TED has grown enormously over the past few years in all areas of the globe. There are thousands of TEDx conferences each year hosted independently from the main TED event. TED has created a conference model that they can replicate throughout the World whilst not being present and still deliver the same quality conference that they would have if they hosted it themselves. Let me not get carried away too much about TED though. Continue ReadingRead More »
We often struggle to differentiate levels of success for online businesses because they cannot be put together in categories. Michael Hyatt however has done a great job of providing us with five different levels of platform growth. What he has added to this list though is helpful tips in order to take your business to the next level.
The biggest mistake which I’ve seen people make is not being teachable. Yes, I’ve been a victim of my own ignorance too. However, I always encourage learning from those above you and taking it all in. Yes, sure you can figure out some things on your own, but if you’re willing, you can learn from the best and avoid some mistakes they made in the process. Continue ReadingRead More »
Whenever I speak to “New Entrepreneurs” they are always excited to find out what it feels like to sell your first company, sign your first big deal or buy your first sports car. They are chasing that self gratification that will, “according to them” enrich their lifestyle and push them to work harder and smarter in order to attain their goals. I came across a short, smart video that showcases the life of a new startup founder from his POV.Read More »
Everyone leads at some point in their lives. Their scenarios are different, their goals are different, but one thing remains…they have the responsibility to exceed expectations and provide implementation solutions for the people that they lead.
I was speaking to a guy the other day and even though he is the CEO of a corporation, he said the he feels stagnant in his role as leader of the company. It feels to him as if he is just sitting around and repeating everything he has done in the past. I quickly threw back a couple of questions at him to look for the root of the problem. In his case, it all came down to falling behind in his niche, not leading himself first to lead his people and not being open to grow and learn.Read More »
We as entrepreneurs get so side tracked with what’s going on in our businesses and life that we forget about all those other little things that we want to tick off on our bucket lists. Well, that’s my case anyways. I get side tracked in the beginning of the year with everything that is taking off and launching, that when I resurface more than half the year has disappeared. Therefore I’ve decided to do something a little bit different this year.
Not only do I have a more solid system in place now, but I have an urge to start ticking off things on my bucket list early in 2014 already. I’m going to nominate 8 things that I want to get done this year and when I complete all of them I will add a bonus one or two items to the list for 2014.
My idea with making these nominations public is for you to keep me accountable in my actions surrounding something else than just work. I will also be keeping you up to date with photos and posts surrounding my completion of these activities listed.
So without further or do. Here is my Buck List Nominations for 2014! Continue ReadingRead More »
Successful people thrive in setting goals that are smart, attainable and realistic. Without a goal, you will be aiming at nothing and by aiming at nothing, you will achieve just that…nothing. Having goals enables you to focus and work hard at that which you would like to achieve in life. Every person out there has dreams and they would love for them to become a reality. However, in order to achieve your dreams, hard work is involved and it definitely isn’t for the fainthearted.
My belief is that part of the first steps to achieving success is being able to set S.M.A.R.T goals for yourself and your business. What are these goals that you keep talking about? Well, I’m not hovering on one specific area in your life, I’m focusing on the diverse setting. Whether it’s fitness, financial, health, business, savings or relational goals the S.M.A.R.T method is applicable to your situation. Continue ReadingRead More »
I constantly come into contact with people that are waiting for their defining moment in life. It’s as if they have given up on all the rest of life beside the fact that they are waiting, patiently for an opportunity to come knocking.
I find this absurd, to say the least. How do they just sit around waiting, living off the bare minimum in order to just get by every month, but still have hope that their lives are going to change in some radical way?
The truth is. It ain’t going to change unless you do something about it. However, that isn’t why I’m writing this. I’m writing this to instill some thought in your day to day transgressions.
So if you are sitting around waiting, how sure are you that you’re ready? How sure are you that if this opportunity does come around, that you’ll be able to grip it with both your hands and make a success of it?
Well, are you ready for your defining moment?
“Give it some thought and be honest with yourself.”
If you feel that you aren’t ready, stop wasting time and get back to moving forward in life.

A while back I got asked whether or not I ever saw the movie Shawshank Redemption, for some reason I hadn’t… Over the years, I’ve heard about the movie, read one or two interesting reviews about it, but never actually put time aside to watch it. That was until now. I didn’t really know what to expect besides a decent quality movie as it’s rated 9.3/10 on IMDB. The movie turned out to be excellent with Tim Robbins portraying character traits that will lead you to success one day.
Just before the movie ended, I had a paragraph of thoughts running through my head. It was my take away from the movie and I decided that I wanted to share it with you guys. It applies to all of us in our day to day battles and encourages us to hold on to that which we believe in. That dream that we are working towards. That goal that just seems out of reach. It encourages you to have HOPE.
If hope is lost, life is lost. The purpose of where you are going in life deprives once you lose hope. Keep believing..keep pushing for that which you have on your heart to achieve. It doesn’t matter how long it takes. Being determined and persistent wins in the long run. If it takes you crawling through a 500 yard pipe filled with human waste to reach your goals and freedom it’s part of the process. It gets easier the harder you push. It gets easier when you focus on the end result. Nothing in life comes free. Often we have to dwell around in a place that is unforgiving, making the best of it is essential. Through that in which we believe and that which we stand for we slowly make our way to the top. Until one day the opportunity that we have been waiting for presents itself and our whole life changes..
I wrote this exactly the way I conjured it my mind. It isn’t about the grammar. It isn’t about the word selection. It’s about the tiny lesson of persistence and having hope for that which you believe in.

Life is good. You’re smiling, happy and loving the fresh morning breeze as you feel it through your nostrils in the grocery store parking lot. On your way here, your favorite song played over the radio and you got some news that your holiday plans are finally panning out. You know this is going to be a good day through and through, but as soon as you enter the store, you are greeted by sour, non smiling individuals who look like they haven’t had a good day….ever.
You open your lips and reveal those beautiful teeth that God graced you with and minding your own business, you go about doing your shopping. You whistle now and again and sing a song or two whilst picking out the necessities. Out of the corner of your eye you pick up a guy walking down your isle and as he reaches you, you stop and greet him. Without a word he smirks and says move.. “What is wrong with these people?” you think to yourself.
Everyone should be happy and smiling all day long. We were created to distribute love, positive energy, understanding and more than often we don’t feel that way. We get caught up in our own little world that we believe is the ultimate and only worry about ourselves. However, your view on life should be different. You should enjoy it the fullest and treasure every moment. Happiness shouldn’t just be a character trait. It should be a lifestyle that you live out and express daily.
Because I see a lot of “Fake” happy people walking around nowadays, I thought I would compile a list to help you see through those people that say something, but do things differently. It will help you identify the people around you that walk one way, but talk another.. Let’s see what this list consists of.
The things happy people do not do
- 1. Worry about other people’s problems: This is one of the greatest things we face in our culture today. We were brought up to identify certain traits in people and assist where necessary. Hear me out. There is nothing wrong with helping others solve and sort out their problems. You just don’t need to make it “your” problem…If you really can’t help, be honest and tell them. Otherwise, just mind your own business and move on.
