Money is the one thing that “according to everyone” makes the world go round. In some sense it is true, but then again, if you look at island tribes or certain cultures you will see that they live a happy, fulfilled life without a dime.

I’m not saying that you too have to live without money, but if they can live a happy life without ever needing to worry about money, why can’t you be happy with a low bank balance? Why do you feel worthless if you don’t have any money?

I mean even Bill Gates said, “Being a Billionaire is overrated.

You have so much to be grateful for yet, you always complain about the things you don’t have. The things that others have that you want. It gets so bad that you create a false motive in your head that you need money otherwise you can’t live a happy life.

Well let me tell you something, money shouldn’t be your drive train to success. Your path to success should be paved with dreams, goals and ambition…not the lust for MONEY.

You need to figure out what your purpose is in life, what gets you out of bed in the morning. You need to find that one thing that you love that makes you warm up inside. That one thing that gets you so excited that you can’t sleep for days.

You should be chasing your dreams and goals everyday of the year, not the money behind it all.

I can promise you that if you are only after the money and only focus on the money, you will be one of the most unhappy people in the world. You will live a bitter, incomplete life that might seem amazing in the beginning, but it will all start crashing down soon enough.

You should sit down, grab a piece of paper and write down a few notes…

Starting with:

  • Money can’t buy you happiness.
  • Chasing after money, distracts you from your actual purpose in life.
  • Money can make you greedy and selfish.
  • Money causes stress.
  • Money doesn’t make you a better human being.

Those are simple points that you can write down and expand on. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with wanting money, but making it your key focus in life defeats the entire purpose of succeeding. According to me that is.

So my advice: Do what you love and do it well. Money will follow eventually. Remember that patience is key to making a success out of yourself.
