I went to bed one evening thinking about what I wanted to be when I grew up. Ever since I could remember as a young boy, I wanted to be a fighter pilot. As time moved along though, I realized that my destiny was far greater than that of a fighter pilot. It involved a bigger perspective on nations, communities and people. That’s when I realized that I wanted to #Besomebody.
Ever since its launch in 2009, the #Besomebody movement has been taking the world by storm. Having started as a personal mantra of Founder, Kash Shaikh, it has now become one of the fastest growing and farthest reaching Motivational Movements in the world. Reaching more than 4 Million people in over 180 countries every single month.
I discovered #Besomebody on Twitter in 2011 when a friend tweeted me with the hashtag and I decided to have a look at who else was using it. To my surprise, there were thousands of people tweeting out their motivational statements and quotes. That is when I came across the newly launched #Besomebody Blog that Kash was using to share his passion for writing, by sharing his personal experiences, emotional tales and honest views with the world, whilst simultaneously inspiring individuals to go big or go home as he traveled the world for Procter & Gamble and GoPro.
In 2013 when Kash realized how big the #Besomebody movement was getting, he decided to leave GoPro and go all-in on his passion. He wanted to grow #Besomebody into something that helped people all across world….That made them feel worthy of something.
The 2013 College Tour
When Kash left GoPro, his first idea was to set out on a college tour across the US and share the movement’s message with everyone he could. He rounded up a couple of friends that joined him on the tour and they set off. With some detours along the way, they ended up doing 25 schools in 35 states driving 15,000 miles in 50 days. An epic experience with passionate students across the country. #besomebody.
