As Saturday came along you constantly heard more people speaking about the end of the world. They all presumed that it the rapture was going to start at 6pm local time and then the world will end as we know it. Its amazing to see how gullible some people can be. Seth Godin said this in a great way in one of his latest posts:
Sell a story that some people want to believe. In fact, sell a story they already believe.
That is totally true. Everyone has been hearing that the world was going to end sometime and even though the movie 2012 predicted it to be on the 21st December 2012, all it took to change the people’s opinions was some family radio in the states. The word spread and everyone started believing it, especially because the guy that said it happen to come up with a lot of mathematical equations. We are only able to use 3% of our brains, how would it be possible for any human being to predict the end of the world?
Anyway, I heard some pretty stupid stories of some people that actually ended up selling their cars and spending all their money, including savings to move on to the next life as a happy person. Its amazing how easily some people are talked into believing certain things. All that I can say is we are still alive, well I’m writing this aren’t I? All the people that thought they would be getting off from work is sitting at their desks right now…It makes you think, why did you believe the world was gonna end on Saturday?
